Science Based Targets – why businesses are aligning their goals with science

Detta möte är ett samarrangemang mellan WWF, CDP och NMC. Mötet kommer att hållas på engelska.

Find out what a science based target looks like for your sector and consider joining the 180+ Global corporations which have already made a public commitment to set science based emission targets.

Science Based Target Setting is an initiative that promotes innovative approaches to set ambitious and meaningful corporate GHG reduction targets that are consistent with the goal of limiting global warming to less than 2°C compared to pre-industrial temperatures. This initiative was formed as a response to the urgent call of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to scale-up the efforts to decarbonize the economy.

This session will take a deeper dive into what a science based target is; the business case for setting a science based target; the process of setting a target; looking into the methodologies and approaches available and how they can be applied to different sectors and how to credibly shape the target. This will be presented of by Dr Susie Wood / Senior Manager – Science Based Targets Initiative.

The event is relevant for corporate, investor, NGO and public sector audiences. As spaces are limited, priority will be given to companies which might consider setting targets. Spaces for consultancy companies are limited.
